The 11,000 square foot Professional Development Center (PDC) is the School of Education's main venue for hosting meetings, conferences, and other events in support of the professional development of educators. The PDC can accommodate meetings for 10 to 375 people.
The central mission is to serve as an attractive, functional meeting facility for professional development activities sponsored by the School of Education. The PDC is an event venue where educators engage in meaningful activities that lead to professional growth and, ultimately, improved learning outcomes for students and clients.
Secondarily, the PDC serves as an event venue for College department and community-based educational organizations, to conduct professional meetings in support of their mission, especially as aligned with the School of Education's core mission of teaching, research, and service.
Third, the PDC will, on a limited basis, be available to private organizations, individuals and non-academic student groups as a professional setting for business and social functions, as available and appropriate.
