Enjoy free admission to the Chrysler Museum of Art and explore 5,000 years of civilization through 30,000 objects in our world-class collection, stunning glass galleries, and interpretive programs. Visitors can enjoy an extensive collection of European and American paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts; a world-renowned glass collection, Art Nouveau furniture, and works of art from African, Egyptian, Pre-Columbian, Islamic, and Asian cultures. The Museum offers a full schedule of free programs and activities including concerts, theatrical performances, children's tours, group tours, and lectures. The Italianate building on Norfolk's Hague waterfront includes a café, museum shop, library, and theatre, and our Historic Houses are within walking distance. The Museum is open Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 5 p.m. The Chrysler Museum Glass Studio opens in November 2011 with free demonstrations and exciting new programs to interpret the Museum's extensive glass collection.
