This four mile section of the James River offers abundant wildlife and seclusion. Also canal era historical sites such as the six mile bridge trestle, dating from 1850, and beautiful stone remains of the Beaver Creek aqueduct and Archer Creek culvert (1838), are easily accessible by canoe.
