Big Gem Park

The Historical Big Gem Park is being developed into a recreational area in the Town of Shenandoah. There is a stocked pond for fishing, gazebo and picnic tables, remote control vehicle track, two playground areas, mountain biking and hiking trails. Much of this 68 acre park is currently undeveloped and provides many bird and wildlife enthusiast with a place to see them in their natural habitat. Future master plans include a baseball field and an outdoor amphitheater. Some foundations of the Big Gem Iron Ore Furnace remain in place today. Visitors will truly enjoy this unique park experience, which is also a geo-cache location as well.
