the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum at James Madison University in Harrisonburg is a birding site on the Virginia Wildlife and Birding Trail system. The trail is the first statewide program of its kind. The arboretum is a site in the Lost Shoes Loop, and a part of the Shenandoah Valley Area of the state that incorporates many trail loops within the Virginia birding and wildlife trail system.
