Have fun at designated beaches across the lake. Remember to stay safe in around the water! Camping is popular around the lake with 15 campgrounds spanning across the Virginia and North Carolina sides of the lake. Photo by Park Ranger Roseana Burick
Not only is the lake family friendly but also pet friendly. We love to see the whole family enjoying the water. Even the dogs remember to wear their life jackets, so don't forget yours! Photo by Park Ranger Roseana Burick
Volunteers around the lake help teach visitors the importance of water safety. With four visitor/ nature centers around the lake, and various Chambers of Commerce, there's plenty to see and do. This ranger holds one of the snakes you'll see at the Joesph S.J. Tanner Environmental Center, located next to the Dam. Photo by Ranger Bob Burick
When visiting the lake, you'll have the chance to see plenty of wildlife. There are regular sightings of bald eagles, osprey, and herons. You never know what you'll see!
