Did you know … There are over 160 species of butterflies in Virginia. Most adult butterflies live from 20 to 40 days. Butterflies have footpads that act as taste buds. Butterflies and moths fold their wings differently.

The Danville Science Center’s Butterfly Station and Garden is open April through October. Free admission. There is a small fee for guided tours. For information about scheduling guided tours or after-hours facility use, call us.
