American Saddlebred horse stable located on Rt 10 east of Hopewell. Residence built ca. 1809. One of the oldest homes in Prince George County. The farm, known as Greenway, was built as a typical hall and parlor farm house with gabled dormers. There is an English basement and many of the windows are handblown originals. The saddlebred stable is managed by Dale Sloat, trainer, and his wife Susan Sloat, riding instructor.Dale specializes in training breeding and showing American saddlebred horses and hackney ponies. Sue teaches balanced riding to all ages and advanced saddleseat riding to riders headed to the showring. The stable is located on 60 acres and has indoor and outdoor riding facilities. Riding is available for lessons only. No rental horses are allowed.
