The EJC Arboretum offers outdoor lovers opportunity to explore woodland paths rich in diversity of songbirds, migratory birds, waterfowl, and predator birds. There are 125 acres of native Oak and Hickory Forest, a pond supporting aquatic plants, fish, frogs, turtles, and there is a Bog Garden exhibiting northern species and insectivorous plants. Extraordinary in beauty and scope, the Arboretum's forested slopes and lowland swale also provide habitats of diverse flora and are haven for many species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers native to the mid-Appalachians, some of them rare and endangered. Outdoor athletes can enjoy cross-country three mile workouts with hills; taking a nature walk can be a great family outing; or, stroll wooded paths with man's best friend. There’s plenty for outdoor lovers to do at the EJC Arboretum!
