The Harrisonburg Turks are a proud member of the 12 team NCAA sanctioned Valley Baseball League. From May 31st through August 10th, college players from across the country head to the Shenandoah Valley to showcase their baseball skills and to catch the eye of the major league scouts. The Turks provide inexpensive family entertainment on those long summer nights in Harrisonburg. Numerous Turks alumni have made it to the major leagues such as 2003 WSC Florida Marlins OF Juan Pierre, WSC 2002 Anaheim Angels SS and 2006 WS MVP David Eckstein, the tallest player in baseball history RHP Jon Rauch, Arizona Diamondbacks SS Cliff Pennington, and former Florida Marlin Scott Cousins. Come to James Madison University's Veterans Memorial Park in Harrisonburg and experience the crack of the bats, the cheers of the fans, and a tasty ballpark hot dog. Don't forget the autograph of that potential future major league baseball player!
