The Jamison Mill Trail System is a 6 mile, moderate to strenuous, interconnecting multi-use trail for hikers and bicyclists. The backbone of the trail system consists of three main interconnecting loops, to which are connected various trail segments. Trails vary from narrow footpaths to wide fire roads and are marked by trees painted with differently colored diamonds that correspond with the trail map.
Jamison Mill Park is named for the mill that was located nearby before the construction of Philpott Dam. Two interpretive stops along the trail, Robert 'Bob' Carter's homesite and the previous site of Jamison Mill, bring to life the rich history of the community that lived in the vicinity of the orginial mill during the early to mid 1900's.
Allow at least 3 hours to complete the trail system.
