Situated on 763 acres of pristine wetland and forest habitat and bordering the Northwest River, the city's most expansive park offers camping, an extensive trail system, boating, canoeing and fishing.

* Boating-Paddle along the inland lake or venture onto the scenic Northwest River. Canoes, jon-boats and paddleboats are available to rent by the hour or day.
* Fishing-Fish the stocked lake for bass, blue gill, crappie, catfish and trout. A Virginia freshwater license is required for anyone 16 years and older. (Licenses are not available on-site.)
* Hiking-Set your own pace for a stroll along any of the park's more than seven miles of winding trails. The Marjorie Rein Memorial Walkway weaves through the Southern Terminal area of the park then bridges both a freshwater marsh and bald cyprus swamp on its way to the observation platform.
