Encompassing more than 15,000 acres of woodlands, streams, ponds, and scenic trails, this park is the largest nature area in the National Park Service's Washington Capital Region. Offering a RV park, cabins, and both primitive and developed camping sites. The park features extensive nature trails, an abandoned mine and numerous sites of cultural, geological, and historical interest. Once a training ground for the OSS's covert operations during World War II, today's park is appreciated for its natural beauty and broad resources for 'soft' adventure. Located just 35 minutes from Washington.
