Rivanna River Alpaca Farm welcomes visitors to meet and greet our friendly alpacas. We love to share the origin and history of these special animals. We have a herd of about 20 colorful Huacaya alpacas. Each year, usually in the spring and fall, we have new babies called "cria" who are particularly adorable. We shear our alpacas for the fiber each spring in April. We also have a Fiber Studio (not handicap accessible) on our farm where you can see how our fiber is processed into yarn and made into beautiful alpaca handwovens. We are full time farmers and our farm is open year round, but sunny, warm days are best for walking around with the animals. Visit our website and please call to schedule a time for a visit. We look forward to meeting you and your family.
