Shenandoah, Virginia is the southernmost town in Page County. The town grew in the early 1800's to support an iron ore forge situated along the Shenandoah River. The town was called Milnes until 1890 when it became Shenandoah, "Daughter of the Stars". Shenandoah Virginia is rich in history and has a non-passenger working railroad station. The Town is on the National and State Register of Historic Places, and boasts a large historic area. The historic downtown area was recently revitalized and has unique specialty shops. There is a beautiful river park with gorgeous mountain views and areas for a variety of water sports. Big Gem Park has a pond for fishing and areas for hiking and picnics.
