The Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia is an Olympic-style amateur sports festival for male & female athletes of all ages & abilities. The Commonwealth Games are produced by Virginia Amateur Sports, Inc. a non-profit corporation in Roanoke. The Games are sanctioned by The National Congress of State Games, recognized by Virginia High School League, NCAA & by the United States Olympic Committee as a State Games Participant. Over 9,000 athletes competed in the 2012 games.

May 25 -  Appalachian Power 5K & 10K Run

June 1-2 - High School Lacrosse Club State Championship, Richmond, VA

July 5-7 - Subway Commonwealth Games All-Star Baseball - Salem, VA

July 19- Opening Ceremonies - Roanoke Civic Center

July 19-21 - Subway Commonwealth Games - 10,000 athletes - 60 sports

September - VAS Golf Tournament - Hanging Rock Golf Course

October - Greenway Memory Mile - 4 Mile & 10 Mile Run

November - Military Familes Marathon

November 23 - Star City Half Marathon
