Said to have been named after Richard Woods who settled near the creek in 1738, Woods Creek has played an important part in Lexington City history because it determined the locations of both Washington and Lee University and the Virginia Military Institute. The two-mile trail extends from Waddell Elementary School (parking available) to Jordan's Point Park (parking available) where the trail meets the Maury River. Pets welcome!
