Built in the "big house, little house" style unique to the Eastern Shore, the three original sections date from about 1800, and feature heart pine floors, bird's-eye maple balusters, high ceilings and four working fireplaces one of which is in a bedroom. The old part of the house is one room deep and has wonderful views of Occohannock Creek, Chesapeake Bay, and farm land from every room. There is a large screened porch over looking the water where guests can enjoy the broad expanse of the creek with its variety of boats, spectacular sunsets, and many species of waterfowl. Amenities include private baths, central AC, pool, refrigerator, dock, fishing, TV and library. Restaurants, golf, shops, galleries and museums are nearby.
