Kiptopeke State Park is on Virginia's Eastern Shore. This park offers access to the Chesapeake Bay and the chance to explore a unique coastal habitat featuring a major flyway for migratory birds. Kiptopeke is three miles from the northern terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. There's an unguarded swimming beach available from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and camping is available.
The park has five six-bedroom lodges, seven RV rentals and the park system's only yurt, which is a cross between a cabin and a tent. One lodge is handicapped accessible. All have heating and air conditioning. Boat launching is free for overnight guests. From Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, cabins are rented by the week. Otherwise, a two-night minimum stay is required. Maximum occupancy and parking vary so please call the park for details.
