The Osceola mill is a converted water powered mill, built by the McCormicks inventor of the reaper (cica 1849) it was named Osceola (after the indian chief) by McCormick. The original structure remains with massive chestnut beams and a huge water wheel. Restoration of the water wheel should be complete this summer. The inn now serves as a fine dining restaurant offering continetal cuisine and enjoys excellent critical reviews. Lodging is comfortable with large rooms and private baths, some have gas fireplaces. The original mill store has been converted to a creekside cabin with a massive wood burning fireplace. A premier served breakfast is included. The scenery is excellent with numerous waterfalls including wonderful Crabtree Falls nearby.
