Today, The Lyceum is Alexandria's general city history museum.  During the Civil War, occupying Union forces seized the building and turned it into a hospital ward, serving both Union and captured Confederate wounded. The Lyceum was saved from demolition by Alexandria's City Council in 1969, to be renovated into the nation's first Bicentennial Center.

Monday - Saturday 10 a.m to 5 p.m.
