Rudy Tucker is a local potter who produces handmade functional stoneware pottery fired in a wood fueled kiln. He works in a number of different "styles" including making salt glazed stoneware as was done in the Shenandoah Valley during the 19th century.
His shop in Mount Crawford is open by appointment or "by chance". Rudy says he is always glad to meet retail buyers or browsers on very short notice, since his kiln and workshop are at his home just two miles away.
Directions: Drive south of Harrisonburg on Route 11, seventh house on the left after Old Bridgewater Road in tiny Mount Crawford. It is a two story putty colored house with porch roof over the sidewalk.
