THE CLOTHIER: PERIOD APPAREL, QUILTS & ACCESSORIES is located in an historic 1822 structure on the seven-acre historic Michie Tavern site. A vast selection of 18th century apparel is available from gowns and mob caps to Civil War attire and accessories. The Clothier offers a unique shopping experience as well as an occasion which is both educational and fun. As one customer wrote: “I want to thank the nice lady who helped my girls try on dresses there. It sure was fun to wear history for a moment and it made our lunch stop there extra special.” In addition to historic clothing, the shop offers historic patterns, shawls, scarves, jewelry, books, sewing notions and a wide variety of quilts and quilted items.
