Day 1
Spend time on The Wine Trail of Botetourt County and at our county's first Micro-Brewery! Visit our three farm wineries, each offering distinct flavors of fine wines and spectacular views.

Begin your day by hiking the wooded trails on the 300-acre estate that is Blue Ridge Vineyard or relax in the unique setting of the rustic barn that overlooks the mountains and enjoy a tour of the winery and vineyards.

From Blue Ridge Vineyards, travel through the quaint town of Eagle Rock. Enjoy lunch at Ma's and Pa's Diner where both the food and hospitality are well known.

After lunch, cross the mighty James River and you're only minutes away from Virginia Mountain Vineyards where you can sample the variety of sweet and dry wines produced from 100% Virginia grown Vinifera vines. Enjoy a glass of your favorite wine as you relax in the Gazebo and absorb the surrounding beauty.

Check into the 200 year old historic Santillane Bed and Breakfast, one-time home of the wife of William Clark, national hero and pioneer. Or select from one of our six hotels just ten minutes away and located near exit 150, off Interstate 81.

Enjoy dinner at one of our many restaurants. If you're seeking a more casual fare, you'll find everything from barbeque to family style. If fine dining is your preference, try The Pomegranate Restaurant and Gathering Place in nearby Troutville.

Day 2
Travel through the town of Troutville, a designated Appalachian Trail Community, and you'll find signs to Fincastle Vineyard & Winery. Learn how wine is produced using traditional Bordeaux small scale techniques. Wander through the vineyards, tour the mountainside winery and sample Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay.

Leaving Fincastle Vineyard and Winery, enjoy the scenic drive as you head towards Flying Mouse Brewery where you'll be shown the process of brewing beer commercially from grain to keg. Using a technique called "style bending" Flying Mouse Brewery begins with established styles and develops their own versions of popular beers to appeal to a wide range of palettes. Sample light, medium and dark as well as seasonal beers from the tasting bar and enjoy a glass of your favorite in the outdoor patio space with spectacular mountain views.

Each winery and brewery offers a variety of events to enhance your experience and make your visit even more memorable so  check out the calendar of events on Virginia.org and Start Exploring...
