Enjoy a weekend in the country and experience life on the farm. Although Prince William County is one of the fastest growing suburbs of Washington, D.C. ,there are numerous working farms that remain and provide food, milk and other products to the community. Come the fourth weekend in September for the official Prince William County Farm Tour, or check with any of the farms for tours and hours of operation during the year.

Start at Stoney Lonesome Farm, which features a blend of gardens, pasture, forest
and ponds.

Continue to Double "O" Good Alpacas where lush green pastures are full of alpacas. The alpacas are known for their dense and lustrous fiber used to create yarn and other products.

Enjoy the picturesque The Winery at La Grange at the foothills of the Bull Run Mountains. The winery produces thousands of cases of wine and has about 5,500 Cabernet Sauvignon vines growing on the property. Enjoy a tasting in the 1790s manor house and then take a glass of wine outside to enjoy the scenery.

Stroll through the flowers at LynnVale Studios, which grows more than 200 varieties of flowers and herbs. The flower farm has seasonal floral design workshops and arranges pick-your-own parties.

Explore the 2,000-acre Smith Family Farm, which is a Virginia Quality-Assured Beef Producer. The farm also produces poultry, pork and hay.

If you enjoy picking your fruits and vegetables, visit Yankey Farms, which has pick-your-own strawberry and pumpkin patches. The farm also produces a variety of produce and transplants that customers can take home and grow on their own.

Get in the holiday spirit with a trip to Evergreen Acres-Prince William County's premier Christmas tree farm. Located in Nokesville, the farm also features a pumpkin patch, tomatoes and organic produce.

Although not an active farm, Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre features a historic log cabin where you can learn more about the history of farm families in Prince William. The 28-acre site also includes an old schoolhouse, courthouse, jail and Union Church.

Get up close with the animals at Prince William County's Children's Farm. Learn about and touch locally raised animals including chickens, rabbits, ducks and sheep.
