Then, take a short drive to the Winter Farmer's Market in Downtown Harrisonburg. Browse and shop local foods, wines, plants, and much more. Walk along Downtown Harrisonburg's Main Street to find boutiques and shops with an assortment of options to choose from for your holiday shopping needs. Take a break and enjoy some pastries and coffee at Shank's Bakery Have some fun making pottery or glass at You Made It, which is located in the Wine Brothers building. This is the perfect spot to create a gift for a loved one or yourself. Finally, grab dinner at one of the many great restaurants scattered along downtown.
Day Two: Today is the day to explore and see what Rockingham County has to offer. Start the day with an active day trip to Massanutten Resort. The resort provides snow sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing. Not one for playing in the snow? That's fine, the resort also has a spa, indoor water park, and a variety of food selections. After having fun at Massanutten, head back into town and over to Corgans' Publick House to enjoy some good Irish dinner and dessert. You might even be lucky enough to be eating when they are hosting one of their traditional Irish sessions. Then, head over to the Forbes Center for the Performing Arts to see a show. Forbes, owned by James Madison University, hosts a variety of entertaining shows throughout the year. Finish the night with a captivating carriage ride through the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.
