Starting at Milepost 0 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, enjoy scenic views following the highest ridges of the Blue Ridge Mountains. DAY ONE: Milepost 5.8 Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center at Humpback Rocks - view exhibits of early mountain settlers and demonstrations of mountain crafts. Milepost 6 Humpback Rocks - Hike up to the sloping rocks, where you’ll take in amazing panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley , the Piedmont region, and Shenandoah National Park. Also access the Appalachian Trail here. Milepost 13.5 Reeds Gap /Rt. 664 Beech Grove Rd. Park your car and head up the Appalachian Trail either north or south. Afterwards, travel Rt. 664 east for a stay at Wintergreen Resort, and cool your heels at the spa. DAY TWO: Milepost 16 Love, Virginia – Stay at the Royal Oaks Resort Cabins. Or pick up lunch at the Deli on the way to your hike. Milepost 18.5 White Rock Falls- Take this 2.5 mile moderate hike down to an impressive gorge with a waterfall and natural wading pool. Milepost 27 Tye River Gap, Rt. 56 Crossover. Travel east to Montebello to see Crabtree Falls, the Montebello Fish Hatchery, or for a panoramic view, climb up Spy Rock.
