Start your day off at Inglewood Lavender Farm - one of Nelson's newest destinations! Stroll through our fragrant lavender fields, browse in our shop, and take photos of all the farm animals. You can even schedule (in advance) a lavender massage in a private outdoor tent! Enjoy an al fresco, self-catered picnic lunch at one of our tables or bring a blanket and sit in the fields.
When you are ready, head on over to the Blue Mountain Brewery's Barrel House - a 15-minute drive along scenic country roads. At the Barrel House brewery and tasting room, you will discover where tradition meets innovation. You can enjoy a tasting flight of the available beer selections, relax with a full glass of one of their fine ales or lagers, and take a complementary tour after your purchase if you’d like to learn about their special brewing process. www.bluemountainbarrel.com/visit.html
Finally, hop back up the road to Oakland, a museum of rural history. A particularly interesting exhibit is the Camille Room, covering the 1969 Hurricane Camille disaster that devastated the area. www.oakland-museum.org
