Be sure to try their 2012 Cabernet Franc, recognized at the Platinum Level by Virginia Wine Lovers Magazine. Make sure to call ahead of time since Cedar Creek is only open by appointment. Next, enjoy the scenic back roads as you make your way to North Mountain Vineyard & Winery. This pet friendly vineyard offers an array of elegant wines in a charming setting and offers a variety of events throughout the year including live music series. Proceed south along Rt. 11 to Woodstock for lunch and a little shopping at the Woodstock Café and Shoppes before continuing to Shenandoah Vineyards, the oldest vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley.
Enjoy breakfast and homemade apple fritters at Johnny Appleseed Restaurant then start your day at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War or Shenandoah Caverns and their Family of Attractions including American Celebration on Parade and The Yellow Barn. Rest and enjoy lunch at "Retro" Southern Kitchen before spending the afternoon at more vineyards. Continue on to Wolf Gap Vineyard, located on a ridgeline which affords spectacular mountain views. To round out your tour a visit to Cave Ridge Vineyard, nestled in the foothills overlooking the Shenandoah Valley and end at The Winery at Kindred Pointe where you can also enjoy their walking trails on the premises. Be sure to try the Malbec while at The Winery at Kindred Pointe as they are one of the few vineyards in Virginia to grow this grape. Relax in your hotel and then enjoy dinner at Sals Italian Restaurant in Edinburg, a local favorite for authentic Italian cuisine.
