Explore the lives of two fascinating figures in American history, Robert E. Lee and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, on your next trip to Lexington.

Visit the only home Jackson ever owned, the Stonewall Jackson House, and the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery where he, his family and 144 Confederate soldiers and two Virginia governors are laid to rest. You will find many of Jackson's belongings at the Jackson House, and an Edward Valentine statue of him at the Cemetery. Finally, visit the VMI Cadet Museum where his bullet-pierced raincoat is displayed.

See the Edward Valentine recumbent statue of Robert E. Lee, as well as the family crypt, artifacts, and his office on display at the Lee Chapel and Museum. Lee was President of Washington College after the Civil War and left his mark with the Chapel and the Lee House (not open to the public).
