Day 1–Williamsburg, VA After breakfast at your hotel, board the bus to Historic Williamsburg Winery. It is Virginia’s largest winery. Guests are brought on a guided tour of the winery. Afterwards, a lunch is provided in the Gabriel Archer Tavern overlooking the vineyards. Guests keep an engraved tasting glass as a memento. After lunch the bus will take you to Colonial Williamsburg’s Merchants Square. Located adjacent to Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area, it is an 18th-century style retail village with over 40 shops and restaurants. Complete your evening back in Chesapeake with dinner at Passion–The Restaurant, where food and fine wine are not just sustenance; they are food for the soul. Day 2–Outer Banks, NC We’ll start your day with breakfast at a local favorite – Angie’s, famous for omelets and homemade biscuits. We’ll head south to the Outer Banks of NC for a complimentary tasting of the wines of Sanctuary Vineyards. Before leaving, we’ll browse the Cotton Gin, an original working gin that has been transformed into a county marketplace. Step aboard the Knotts Island Ferry and enjoy a boxed lunch en route across the Currituck Sound. Return to Chesapeake and enjoy shopping and dining at Towne Place at Greenbrier, the city’s newest lifestyle destination center. Day 3–Smithfield, VA After breakfast at your hotel, you will head to the banks of the Pegan River to Smithfield, VA. Smithfield, incorporated in 1752, soon became a town devoted to the art of curing the world famous Smithfield Ham. Begin your visit in downtown Smithfield at the Visitor Center. Further down Main Street is the Isle of Wright County Museum, with it overview of the county’s history and the world’s oldest ham. Treat yourself to lunch at the Historic Smithfield Inn where you can order a signature Smithfield ham dish!
