Day 1

Start the day with private sailing lessons from Sail Nauticus Sailing Center located in downtown Norfolk along the waterfront. This center offers variety of classes and caters to all ages. Sailing lessons offered for adults and youth as well. Learn how to become your own captain. 

Enjoy lunch on the roof top restaurant of the Ocean View Fishing Pier overlooking the Bay. Savor the delicious Willoughby clam chowder or the Chesapeake Burger.

Fishing Pier offers complete facilities and equipment for everyone who lives and loves to fish. Ocean View Watersports has jet skies along with all other types of watercraft to make the most of your time on the water!

Experience a "Crab Class" to learn about the intricacies of the crab season, different kinds of crabs, and the history of crabs in Coastal Virginia. Tables will be covered with newspaper and all guess will receive a wooden mallet and learn how to retrieve the crab meat. Crab Pickers will also be on hand, teaching you how to break through the shells to enjoy the sweet, flavorful meat.

Day 2

Enjoy a fun-filled morning of kayaking through the waterways of the Norfolk Botanical Garden and explore a variety of plants from the cultivated to the wild along with a two-acre Bristow Butterfly Garden. Then discover the exquisite gardens on a hike through 12 miles of path. Stop for lunch at The Garden Café, the perfect choice for a bistro-style lunch.

Meet the lions, feed the giraffes or paint with the elephants at the Virginia Zoo! Only the zoo offers you up-close animal tours filled with memorable experiences. Hop aboard the Zoo Train for an informative tour that includes live narration from the train engineer about the Zoo and its collection of plants and animals!

Grab a bite to eat at Press 626 Café, located in Norfolk's historic Ghent. Press 626's menu reflects the farms and artisans who provide many of their delicious ingredients.

Day 3

Take a hike along Norfolk's Elizabeth River's Trail.  This downtown trail is a 5 mile hike along Norfolk's waterfront the Elizabeth River. Along your hike, explore the Battleship Wisconsin, one of the last and largest battleships built by the U.S. Navy. Next to the Battleship,  visit Nauticus, a fun and exciting interactive science and technology center.
