“Photographer Debbi Dellinger is a native of Shenandoah County who spent her childhood roaming the surrounding forests and wading cold mountain streams. A love of nature was instilled in her by parents who fished, hunted the mountains for mushrooms and other edible bounty and raised food and flowers in their many gardens. Grandparents have left her with memories of childhood stories told in the old “Dutch” (German) language, split White Oak baskets sold to support a large family and the ability and love to propagate plants and flowers. Debbi now roams the same forests capturing photographic images reminiscent of those early years and continues to follow the family tradition of weaving White Oak Baskets.”
