The Manassas LOVEwork is made from plywood painted with marine shades of blue and gray and mounted in narrow rail cars affixed in the ground with metal stakes. Attached to the “O” simulates a railroad track with a small train.
The railroad theme speaks to the long and storied history of Manassas as a railroad town and coordinates with Civil War programs. The centrally located sculpture at the Manassas Museum will encourage interaction from visitors and residents during festivals, Fourth of July events and historic programs.
Visitors are encouraged to take photos with the LOVEworks and share with loved ones on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/VirginiaisforLovers or on Twitter with the special hashtag #LOVEVA. A complete list of the LOVEwork locations is at www.Virginia.org/LOVE.
