Launched in 2005 as an arts initiative, Arts at Virginia Tech encompasses efforts university-wide to expand creative practice and support interdisciplinary learning, engagement, and discovery through the arts. The cornerstone project of Arts at Virginia Tech is the Moss Arts Center, which houses the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech professional presenting program; the university-level Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology; and television and lab spaces for the Department of Communication.
The Center for the Arts offers the residents of southwest Virginia something new and exciting, from music, theatre, and dance performance to visual arts galleries for traditional, digital, and new media exhibitions. We understand that the arts enhance lives far beyond a single experience in the performance hall or gallery. Artists' expressions inform our understanding of the world.
The Center for the Arts offers a thriving creative community fueled by inspiration, where patrons have meaningful experiences, enjoying arts of the highest caliber in a wide variety of forms. We are at the threshold of a new era for the arts at Virginia Tech and surrounding communities.
