Through a comprehensive arts initiative, Virginia Tech has made a strong commitment to the arts on campus and in the surrounding communities. The cornerstone of the initiative is the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. With the center's new facilities nearing completion, the inaugural season began with the opening of the exhibition galleries on October 28, 2013 and the first performance on November 1, 2013. The Center for the Arts offers the residents of southwest Virginia something new and exciting, from music, theatre, and dance performance to visual arts galleries for traditional, digital, and new media exhibitions. We understand that the arts enhance lives far beyond a single experience in the performance hall or gallery. Artists' expressions inform our understanding of the world. The Center for the Arts is embarking on a new journey, offering many facets of creative exploration.
The Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech is creating a thriving creative community fueled by inspiration, where patrons have meaningful experiences, enjoying arts of the highest caliber in a wide variety of forms. We are at the threshold of a new era for the arts at Virginia Tech and surrounding communities.
