A renovated diary barn setting is home to The Jacksonville Center for the Arts. The center includes Virginia’s first cultural arts business incubator. The second floor art gallery hosts six exhibits a year featuring local and regional artists. The center also is home to Virginia's first residential crafts school offering weeklong and weekend on-site courses on blacksmithing, glassworking and pottery. Ongoing short-term arts and crafts classes are offered for all ages with day and evening sessions. The center provides visitor information for Floyd County and the nearby section of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Special events are also hosted by the center and are listed on the center's website.
