State Theatre of Culpeper

The 1938 Culpeper State Theatre just recently completed a $9 million restoration and expansion phase, and reopened as a state-of-the-art entertainment and educational venue that includes:

  • National Touring Artists and Musicians (country, bluegrass, folk, rock, pop, gospel, Latin, big band, classical)
  • Local and Regional Talent (theatre, dance, musical concerts)
  • Film/Cinema with classic 35mm, independent, documentary and foreign films as well as highly anticipated film festivals.

The beautifully restored art deco marquee lights up Main Street and casts a shining light on the renaissance of Culpeper and the region. The Theatre plans to partner with the Library of Congress Packard Campus for Audio-Visual Conservation, located just 10 minutes from the Theatre, to develop film festivals and show classic films in 35mm. Coupled with many of these programs will be school field trips, educational opportunities through workshops, master classes and lectures. The State Theatre is listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places and is owned by The State Theatre Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

Individual and corporate donations are welcomed. Visit the Theatre's website, or call for more information and to learn how you can be a part of the excitement.

Admission Fee: Perfomance fees vary;plese inquire on theatre website or box office
