The Civil War on the James Tour is a two-hour pontoon boat tour.  This trip will lead you through the natural beauty of the James River while your guides trace the Naval actions that took place in the area of Dutch Gap and Jones Neck from 1862-1865.

Look through a series of actual Civil War images taken from the very place your guides will take you.  Listen to stories of Confederate torpedoes, the Dutch Gap Canal, The Bermuda Hundred Campaign ... all from 150 years ago on the James River. This is a unique opportunity aboard the Discovery Barge II, a 24-foot, covered pontoon boat. The tour departs from Deep Bottom Park.
