Front Royal is a charming historic town incorporated in 1788 which played a significant agricultural, industrial, educational, religious and military role from the early days of the Republic. We also take great pride in the spectacular natural settings that surround our town. This self-guided walking tour will acquaint our visitors with some of Front Royal’s historical sites and personalities, many of which were closely related to the Civil War.The tour also features architectural aspects as well as optional side trips along the way.
