Oktoberfests

    October in Virginia is fantastically fun for families with corn mazes and pumpkin patches, Halloween tricks and treats, and wine month festivals. But October is not October without Oktoberfests, which actually start in September! 

     

      

    Central Virginia

    Richmond - Sep 21-23 - St. Benedict Oktoberfest - St. Benedict Catholic Church will hold its 7th Annual Oktoberfest with breweries, wineries, authentic German food, German music, German dance, children’s activities and entertainment, as well as the Christkindlmarkt -- a unique shopping experience.

    Richmond - Oct 6 - Capital Ale House Oktoberfest - We will close Main Street in front of our restaurant to make more room for the party. There is no cover charge and each guest of legal drinking age can purchase a traditional 1-liter Capital Ale House stein for $2.00. Families are welcome however anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

    Richmond - Oct 26-27 - Richmond Oktoberfest - Be German for a night at the Annual Richmond Oktoberfest! This is the oldest, biggest and best Oktoberfest celebration in Virginia!

     

    Southern Virginia

    Martinsville - Oct 6 - Martinsville Uptown presents theOktoberfest International Arts and Culture Festival. There will be two streets of vendors offering everything from free balloon animals to fine art, plus lots of kid-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, inflatable bounce houses and a petting zoo. "Little Germany" will also offer a beer garden selling domestic and imported beer as well as traditional german foods like delicious bratwurst.

     

    Shenandoah Valley

    Staunton - Oct 6 - Oktoberfest at the Frontier Culture Museum - Traditional Oktoberfest celebrates German heritage at the Frontier Culture Museum's German farm. Music, children's activities and your favorite brew bring the celebration of Oktoberfest to Historic Staunton, Virginia.

    Bent Mountain - Oct 6 - Oktoberfest at AmRhein Wine Cellars - Enjoy world-famous barrel rolling AND barrel riding competitions, live music by The Kings, and more!

     

    Northern Virginia

    Fredericksburg - Sep 21-22 - In traditional Bavarian fashion, Fredericksburg comes together under TWO big tents in September to celebrate the Fredericksburg Area Oktoberfest! Family fun with sing along, stein holding contest, Oompah music, ginger bread walk.

    Lovettsville - Sep 28-30 - In celebration of Lovettsville's German heritage, the  Annual Lovettsville Oktoberfest will take place during the last weekend of September.

    Reston - Oct 5-7 - Oktoberfest Reston - Attendees can enjoy German food, beer and wine along with live entertainment plus carnival rides.

    Vienna - Oct 6 - Oktoberfest - The event will take place on historic Church Street in Vienna, and will feature a beer garden, food vendors, two stages with live entertainment (one for adults and one for children), a festival marketplace and a FREE children's activity area.

    Spotsylvania - Oct 6 - Octoberfest at Lake Anna Winery - Enjoy the bounty and beauty of Fall in the country. Come join us for an evening of wine, a hearty authentic German meal and local music from Mike Wheelehan to dance! Help benefit Habitat of Humanity.   

    Blue Ridge Highlands

    Pembroke - Sept 22, 29, Oct. 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27 - Oktoberfest at Mountain Lake Hotel - Feast at the German banquet table—complete with roast pig—sample fresh baked breads and pastries, taste German beers, wines and ciders in the biergarten, and dance to the music of a live German "Oompah" band.

    Woolwine - Oct 6 - Octoberfest is the biggest and best of all the events for the Woolwine Fire Department. Vendors of arts and crafts are lined up for your enjoyment and purchasing pleasures and a variety of different bluegrass bands will be playing.
