Steeped in Virginia History. Abingdon’s The Martha Hotel & Spa dates back to 1832 and served as a Civil War era hospital, a women’s college and now as a luxury hotel, complete with spa and year-round saltwater pool.
Roughing It? Not So Much. Virginia offers everything from primitive camping to camp-grounds. But bedding down on the cold ground after a long day of outdoor adventures is hardly what Primland Resort has in mind. These cabins are some of the best.
Family Style. Unique opportunities to spend the night with your family exist all around the Commonwealth. Never mind the year-round waterpark, Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg gives kids the opportunity to bunk together in the wild without leaving mom and dad’s watchful eye.

Far removed from Colonial or Civil War history, the Craddock Terry Hotel in Lynchburg celebrates the city’s manufacturing history in a former shoe warehouse.
