Chantilly is located in western Fairfax County in the Northern Virginia region of Virginia. During the Civil War, the Battle of Chantilly took place nearby. It is approximately 24 miles from Washington D.C. and is home to Dulles International Airport.
Located in Chantilly, Sully Historic Site, which was the home of Richard Bland Lee, northern Virginia’s first representative to congress and Robert E. Lee’s uncle, gives visitors a peek into what life was like eighteenth century.
Feel free to explore aviation and space history and even watch Dulles Airport’s air traffic from the soaring observation tower at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, an extension of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.
