A Virginia Mountain Resort
The Homestead in Hot Springs is surrounded by the Allegheny Mountains and covers 15,000 spectacular acres.
With 506 luxurious rooms and suites reflecting the Georgian style, The Homestead also features wonderful places to dine - from the elegant Main Dining Room with continental cuisine to the the more intimate 1766 Grille, or the more casual aura of Sam Snead's Tavern - several boutiques and a world-class spa.
The Jefferson Pools are natural hot mineral spring waters, where guests can soak like Thomas Jefferson did back in 1818. Their restorative powers have been documented in history books.
Late Fall through March - The Homestead ski area offers over 45 acres for skiing and snowboarding enjoyment with complete snowmaking capabilities. Take advantage of rental equipment, private & group lessons that are available at Sepp Kober Ski School and the Bunny School. Our Little Penguins Program is a winter version of our famous KidsClub. Your kids will spend the day building snowmen, sledding, making snow angels, and other fun winter activities.
Cross-Country Ski across the Old Course or get your heart rate up on The Homestead Trail. Lessons, guided tours and equipment rental are available for all ages.
Snow Tubing, snowmobile and snowshoeing tours, as well as an Olympic-sized ice skating rink, make The Homestead a winter wonderland. There's even a bowling alley for indoor sport lovers!
Early Spring through Fall - Three Golf Courses present different challenges, such as The Old Course, which dates back to 1892! Slammin' Sammy Snead began his golf career here, and the Golf Advantage School will help fine-tune your game. With its recent restoration to the original 1923 William S. Flynn design, the nationally ranked Cascades course touts a nearly incomparable tradition of championship golf, and is the jewel of The Homestead courses.
Swim indoors or out. Volley tennis serves on 12 clay or hard courts. Hike or bike on trails throughout the resort. Join experienced guides on a caving tour, too.
Other unique activities include fly-fishing with an Orvis guide, falconry, and shooting at sporting clays or targets. Paintball, hayrides and a Family Challenge Course make every visit a new adventure!
