That very important four-legged family member needs ample exercise — especially if cooped up all day on a road trip. Let 'em cut loose from the leash and run free at Virginia's Dog Parks in Hampton Roads!
Dog Parks are gaining popularity — not only for the exercise but for the socialization — for dogs as well as for dog lovers!
Human companions must stay on site, supervise and pick up after their dogs. Dogs are expected to be well-behaved and have proof of shots . . . Good Dog!
Chesapeake City Parks have three dog parks! Water and restrooms are accessible. Parks are off-leash, fenced-in parks for dogs. Features include benches, water fountain for dogs and owners, poop-scoop bags and covered trash cans!
Colonial Place Riverview Dog Park features water bowls for pooches and benches for their owners as well as pooper scoopers and baggies.
Bea Arthur Dog Park features a large, 1-acre area with a double-gated entrance, water station, a toy bin, shaded picnic area and an easy access ramp for dog-paddling in the Elizabeth River!
Waller Mill Dog Park charges just $2 a day for out-of-town visitors. If you're lucky enough to live in Williamsburg, it's only $10 for the entire year!
Ridgway Bark Park is a fenced-in, 3/4-acre park where dogs "play well together, ignorant of their differences in size, breed, and temperament."
Sandy Bottom Bark Park sits on lake-front property and offers ample space to "socialize, sniff around, and leave their own special marks!"
