Come Home to Colonial Beach
Nestled between the Potomac River on the east and the waters
of Monroe Bay on the west, its sandy beaches and marinas have
attracted water sporting enthusiasts for more than a century. Fishing, sailing,
boating, swimming and crabbing are just a few of the water activities enjoyed
here. It's also considered a "golf cart town," where golf carts can be driven on
most of the streets in town.
George Washington Birthplace National Monument is in
Colonial Beach and is maintained by the National Park Service. See the colonial
farm, where costumed interpreters re-create the sights, sounds and smells of
18th-century plantation life.
