Waynesboro

Waynesboro is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley – just three miles from the crossroads of Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Appalachian Trail, making it the perfect location for adventure seekers. Discover hundreds of miles of hiking trails in our backyard, including the newly restored Blue Ridge Tunnel trail.

The South River flows right through downtown, offering a variety of fly fishing, paddling, wading, and birdwatching opportunities. In fact, Waynesboro is one of only two urban trout fisheries in the commonwealth, and six miles of the South River were recently designated a Virginia Scenic River.

Hop on the Shenandoah Beerwerks Trail and get eight stamps on your passport from the nineteen participating breweries within an easy hour’s drive in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. Or visit one of the 30+ wineries within 30 miles of Waynesboro. For a different kind of craft beverage experience, try a flight at Blue Ridge Bucha, a kombucha taproom right in town.

Charming Downtown Waynesboro is home to an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, galleries, museums, and the historic Wayne Theatre. We even have our own Street Arts Trail which helps visitors find and learn more about our incredible works of public art.
