The VCU Rams host athletic battles year 'round in downtown Richmond. The school is best known for its nationally ranked medical and arts programs, but has nationally recognized scholar athletes as well.

Men and Women’s Basketball: The men's team had a great 2010-11 season, making it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Butler by 8. The lady Rams earned their first NCAA Tournament bid in 2009 and push for more in 2012-13 competition under the new leadership of Marlene Stollings.
