    Tucked into the rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley is the peaceful campus of Bridgewater College, but don't let the serenity fool you. These Eagles have sharpened their talons. Bridgewater's most recent ODAC Championship title came in 2005 and they boast six total. Will 2013 hold another?

    Christopher Newport University * Newport News 

    Christopher Newport Captains

    Christopher Newport University can be found in Newport News and they're known to be true Captains of the gridiron. CNU is the winningest school in USA South competition with nine titles; the most recent won in 2012. Lo and behold, the USA South coaches poll elevates them to reign again for the 2013 season.

    The beautiful campus of William and Mary is located in the heart of historic Williamsburg. Exciting year 'round action has made winning a tradition for the Tribe, a team who has garnered eight conference championships since 1942. Their most recent was a shared title with Delaware in 2010.

    The Emory & Henry Wasps have worn the crown of the ODAC most recently in 2000. Will 2013 be their year to do it again? The Wasps are at the top of the heap in ODAC competition, leading with 11 championship wins.

    Coming off an incredible 11-2 season, the Monarchs look to further solidify themselves as future contenders in Conference USA in 2014. ODU finished their 2012 football season in first place amid the Colonial Athletic Association competition, but was not awarded the championship because of their impending move to C-USA.

    It's unusual, but the Spiders shared their 2012 football championship with three other schools - New Hampshire, Towson and Villanova - all posting a 6-2 season. UR has seven CAA titles under their belt with visions of their eighth on the horizon.

    The Hornets hold two titles in the USA South, with their most recent won in 2003, and both shared with Christopher Newport. In 2012 Shenandoah began play within the ODAC but finished at the bottom of the heap. First-year coach Scott Yoder is looking to climb the chart in 2013 and land well ahead of the coaches' pre-season poll slot of seventh.

    In addition to UVA’s tremendous academic achievements, the Cavaliers are fierce competitors on the field. Affectionately known as the “Hoos,” the University of Virginia has two shared conference titles in the ACC for football.

    Virginia Commonwealth University Rams * Richmond

    The VCU Rams host athletic battles year 'round in downtown Richmond. The school is best known for its nationally ranked medical and arts programs, but has nationally recognized scholar athletes as well.

    Men and Women’s Basketball: The men's team had a great 2010-11 season, making it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Butler by 8. The lady Rams earned their first NCAA Tournament bid in 2009 and push for more in 2013-14 competition.
