With more Civil War battlefields than any other county and venues including; Pamplin Historical Park & the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier and Petersburg National Battlefield – Five Forks Unit Dinwiddie County is a destination for Civil War enthusiasts.

For the adventure and sports enthusiast, Dinwiddie County offers drag racing, motocross, and some of the country’s hottest racing action at the 500-acre Virginia Motorsports Park, skydiving at the Virginia Skydiving Center, whitewater rafting, fishing, bird watching, and canoeing on the Appomattox River and 3-100 acre Lake Chesdin, and the award winning Dinwiddie Sports Complex.

Events happen almost every weekend, but some of the most popular include the Dinwiddie County Fair, Super Chevy Show, Fun Ford Weekend, Rugged Maniac, and NCAA Baseball Tournaments.
