Prince William County is in the Northern Virginia region. It is bordered by the Potomac River to the east and approximately half of the county is forested. It is only 25 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.

One of the nation's largest malls is Potomac Mills with its 240+ stores offering outlet prices. Old Town Manassas offers more than 25 quaint shops and restaurants in an historic setting.

The INNOVATION campus of George Mason University is a performing arts center and home to a "La Scala" style opera house. The community is also home to Prince William Symphony Orchestra and numerous art galleries.

History buffs can enjoy the Manassas Battlefield Park administered by the U.S. National Park Service and where two strategic Civil War battles took place. Other historic sites include the historic town of Occoquan, a national landmark village on the banks of the Occoquan River, and the Weems-Botts Museum in Dumfries.

The 17,000-acre Prince William National Forset provides year-around hiking, camping and picnicking. And for baseball fans, there's the Prince William Nationals, Class A team of the Washington Nationals.
